Net Zero
As part of our aim to be Net Zero by 2040, we've aligned to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to contribute to limit global warming to no more than 1.5°C.
At Zen, we believe that business can be a force for good. Putting people and planet first is central to that.

As part of our aim to be Net Zero by 2040, we've aligned to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to contribute to limit global warming to no more than 1.5°C.

Reducing our environmental impact has been a core part of the Zen philosophy since 2008. Follow the link to view our environmental timeline.

That’s why our ultimate purpose isn't to provide a return to shareholders but to deliver happiness to our people, our customers and our suppliers. Instead of focusing on short term financial targets, we strive for long-term goals aligned to our pursuit of happiness, and our collective desire to have a positive impact on people and the planet. It's all summed up in our simple purpose statement: "Do right by people and planet".
Zen's sustainability manager Paula Wilson caught up with our EXCO lead for the environment, Steve Warburton, to discuss our environmental activities, looking back at some of our past achievements, and forward to what lies ahead.
We established our Environmental Steering Group with the aim of identifying the opportunies, activities, and changes we can pursue to ensure we run Zen in the most ecological and environmentally friendly way. The group helps to shape decision making at the highest level and has been a crucial part of Zen's people and planet first policy.
Each year our Environmental Steering Group works together to define our commitments and objectives for the coming year. We document key milestones from the previous year in our environmental timeline. Here is an overview of those commitments for this current year:

We're decreasing our dependence on gas, enhancing our reporting on greenhouse gas emissions, implementing a raft of policies including travel and waste reduction, and lots more. All part of our Net Zero by 2024 goal.

We can't do this alone, which is why we're working to enhance industry involvement in carbon emission reduction efforts and establish supplier sustainability standards.

We continually encourage and empower our people to engage in environmental community projects and integrate sustainability throughout the Zen culture.

Our router refurbishment scheme is just one part of our mission to reduce waste and keep reusable products out of landfil.
